wisconsin law of corpse and carcass update

Proposed bill will allow motorists to take animals accidently killed by their cars

Currently, if a motorist crashes into a deer and kills it, that person can keep the carcass if he or she gets permission and a tag. But not so for other animals, such as bears and wild turkeys.

Rep. Ann Hraychuck, D-Balsam Like, wants to change that with a bill to allow Wisconsin motorists who strike and kill some other animals with their vehicles to keep them if they follow certain rules.

Hraychuck said she wants to elimate waste by making it easier for people to take animals accidentally killed by cars so they can use them for meat or to mount as trophies.

This is great, Wisconsin really does need to adjust their laws to make it easier for motorists to take and mount animals killed by cars.
